An early 19th century Empire Bronze mantel clock by Japy Freres. 8-day time and strike movement with a convex porcelain dial and Roman numerals with engine turned bezel silk thread suspension. Bronze case with two color Brown/Gilded patina features an Allegorical figure of "Autumn" holding shocks of Wheat with an Amphora at her feet, seated on a rocky outcropping, on a base with Gilded Bronze facade with foliate scrolls and shaped Brass sides. Displayed within a blown glass dome on an oval Ebonized molded wood base. Well preserved finish with bright Gilding and slight wear, running when cataloged. The clock is 13 1/2" high, dome and base are 18 x 9 x 17 1/2" high overall. ESTIMATE $800-1,200

A 19th century carved French mantel clock by Japy Freres for C J & Co. 8-day time and strike movement with porcelain dial having Roman numerals on hours and Arabic minutes with engine turned bezel and filigree hands, serial #'s 45545 (Japy) and 01266 (C J & Co). Carved Oak case with Allegorical figures of the Arts in Fruitwood annotated "W. Hughes, 1861". Older refinishing with minor wear, minor damage, running when cataloged. 21" high. ESTIMATE $1,000-1,500

French Japy Frères Urn Top Mantel Clock: With a T&S movement marked “Japy Frères” and numbered “2998” and a black glass dial with incised Roman Numerals. The metal and wood case has a mask of a bearded man below the dial; dolphin sides and an urn top with a removable lid. The pendulum is with the clock.

French Japy Frères Painted Wood Mantel Clock: With a T&S movement signed “Japy Frères” and numbered 15858; an unmarked porcelain dial with hour and minute markers; and the pendulum. The case is painted with a courting scene and flowers and has a metal bird finial and metal trim and feet.
