A figural work produced in the style of Grand Tour artifacts with Lord Byron or similar poet figure to summit, opposing lion heads flanking the sides, and a relief putti cherub plaque to front. Surmounting beast form feet. Clock key included. "Asonia Clock Co." Engraved to inside.

Marti Large Balloon Flight Figural Victorian Table Clock, Circa 1889, 3 1/4″ enamel dial, slightly convex, 8-day, circular brass movement with Marti medallion, rare & unusual allegorical North Pole balloon expedition figural clock made for the 1889 Paris exposition, heavy red variegated marble base, with seahorses, bears, walrus, balloon in clouds with ribbons & “Gloria the Victor” pointing towards North Pole holding torch, plaque on case reads “Aug. Moreau AU NORD POLE” — August Moreau was one of the most celebrated sculptors of his time, this is a wonderful clock depicting the exciting times of attaining passage to the North Pole, very good restored condition, the dial has flaking near winding arbors & looks good, case refinished. Height 34″.

France, a large figural mantel or table clock with conical pendulum, the alabaster case with hoof feet and scroll returns supporting the canted base below a cylindrical case with projecting sides and front, with conforming, molded top, the case with simple gilt moldings outlining its shape, and surmounted by a bronzed spelter figure of a young woman with amphora cradled in her right hand, the left held aloft and supporting the conical pendulum with polished brass spherical bob, roman numeral gilt dial with engine turned center and gilt spade hands, 8 day two train movement striking the hours and half hour on a bell
