Canadian. 1910s. Quarter sawn oak case. Pequegnat manufactured numerous versions of the Maple Leaf model. This is the "rounded top" version. Refinished case, original dial and glass. Dial signed "The Arthur Pequegnat Clock Co., Berlin, Canada". Full paper on reverse. Movement signed. 21"H x 11.25"L x 4"W. From the Leonard Johnson Collection.

The 2nd issue “Maple Leaf” was offered in two distinct styles referred to by collectors as the “Pointed Top” and “Round Top”. This is the “Pointed Top” example. Full paper label attached to the upper back marked, “Maple Leaf Kitchen Clock, Eight Day, Half Hour Gong”. Made by, “The Arthur Pequegnat Clock Co. Berlin, Canada”. Dial signed, “The Arthur Pequegnat Clock Co., Berlin, Canada” on lower edge. Movement incised, “Pequegnat Clock Co., Berlin Ont.” on front plate. 4.75″ x 12.75″ x 22.75″. A corner piece of the applied decorative moulding on the 1st quarter has been re-glued. There is a 2.5 inch horizontal grain split to the left of the dial. The gold “maple leaf” glass is in near perfect condition. The original paper dial exhibits heavy soiling and surface loss. Mechanism complete with pendulum assembly and winding key.

Light separation at left side of base. Mechanism is complete with correct “maple leaf” pendulum assembly.

Dial signed, “The Arthur Pequegnat Clock Co. Berlin, Canada” on lower edge. 22.5″ x 15.5″ x 5″. Original finish under varnish. Dial exhibits heavy uniform soil and minor material loss at 12 o’clock. Maple leaf glass is original and free of cracks. Mechanism complete with correct “maple leaf” pendulum assembly and winding key.

Canadian. 1900s. Oak. The Maple Leaf model was made in four distinct styles. Collectors refer to them as "Points Up", "Points Down" and "Fan Top" and "Peak Top". This "Peak Top" style features an 8-day spring driven time and strike movement. Strikes on a helical gong. Paper on reverse. Dial marked, "The Arthur Pequegnat Clock Co., Berlin, Canada" lower edge. Case has been stripped. Heavily flaked dial Original maple lead pendulum. Original glass. Two minor splits to the case above the door.
