Canadian. 1920s. Oak. "No crown" version. 8-day spring driven time and strike movement. Paper on inside of the backboard. Dial marked, "The Arthur Pequegnat Clock Co., Canada" lower edge. Original finish. Three areas of paint loss to the dial on the left half of the dial. This clock was running at the time of cataloguing, but its service history is unknown. Two versions of the “Amherst” model are known. This example is known to collectors as the “no crown” version. Dial signed, “The Arthur Pequegnat Clock Co, Canada”. A full paper label is affixed to center of the interior rear door marked, “Amherst Eight-Day Mantel Clock Made By The Arthur Pequegnat Clock Co. Kitchener, Canada”. 6.75″ x 16.5″ x 10.25″. Quarter sawn oak case features original finish with uniform craze. The painted metal dial is clean with a few scattered flea bites surrounding the centre of the dial. Mechanism complete with correct pendulum assembly and winding key.

Notice that paper has been repurposed from a “Citadel”. Two versions of the “Amherst” model are known. This example is known to collectors as the “crown” version. Dial signed, “The Arthur Pequegnat Clock Co. Canada.” A full paper label is affixed to the interior floor marked, “Amherst Citadel Eight-Day Mantel Clock The Arthur Pequegnat Clock Co. Kitchener, Canada”. 6.75″ x 16.5″ x 11.75″. Quarter cut oak case with rounded corners and plain columns at rear, sides and at either side of the face. A scalloped crown is attached to the top. Painted dial exhibits minor paint chip to the right of the number 3. Mechanism complete with correct pendulum assembly and winding key.

Rare. Dial signed, “The Arthur Pequegnat Clock Co, Berlin, Canada”. Full reproduction paper label is affixed to centre rear door, marked, “Galt Mantel Clock Made By The Arthur Pequegnat Clock Co. Berlin, Canada”. A paper seal is affixed to the paper label sold by “J. Pequegnat & Sons Jewellers Guelph, Ontario.”. 7.5″ x 15″ x 10.75″. Quarter cut oak case has its original finish. The painted metal dial has minor scratches in the lower quarter at the 4 and 8. Mechanism complete with pendulum assembly and winding key.

This example features composite trim used by Pequegnat during the metal shortages of WWI. Dial signed, “The Arthur Pequegnat Clock Co, Canada”. A partial paper label on the floor of the interior marked “Barrie Mantel Clock The Arthur Pequegnat Clock Co, Berlin, Canada”. 7″ x 13.5″ x 10.75″. Quarter sawn oak case in original finish. Polished brass bezel. Mechanism complete with correct pendulum assembly and winding key.

Dial stamped, “Pequegnat”. The movement is stamped “Pequegnat Clock Co.” 6″ x 10.75″ x 10″. Case refinished. The once-painted dial is now bare metal with incised numbers. The bezel exhibits oxidation. Mechanism complete with pendulum assembly and winding key.
