This case looks very similar to those made by the Sonora Chime Company which Seth Thomas bought in 1912. It is 2 inches shorter than a similar unlisted model in Tran Duy Ly's "Seth Thomas Clocks and Movements Volume 1," page 162.

Description: Up for auction is a very cool vintage Seth Thomas Sonora Chime mantel clock. The clock does not run reliably, only ticking for a few seconds before stopping. The chime is still functional, having different bells to make up the notes of the classic Westminster Quarters chime. The clock has four points of winding: two mainspring winding holes, one speed adjustment hole, and one hole to wind the chime. The chime hole post is slightly off-center, making it difficult to reach with the included key. We recommend having this clock serviced after purchase at the buyers expense, especially by an experienced clockmaker.
