Rare Virginia Federal Tall Case Clock, Williams & Victor, Lynchburg

circa 1820, Jehu Williams (1788-1859) and John Victor (1793-1845), mahogany and mahogany veneer, poplar and yellow pine secondary, painted metal face with second dial and date dial, upper moon face behind hemispheres, painted spandrels, marked "Willams & Victor, Lynchburg", the hood with broken arched pediment terminating with applied rosettes, central finial on plinth, single hinged glass door, side panels with inset diamond glass windows, fully turned column front supports, the case with an upper applied cove molding above a single rectangular hinged door featuring a banded veneer border set within a case having a banded veneer edge and flanked by reeded corner columns, the base with a burl veneered central panel, banded veneer edge, scalloped skirt, straight bracket feet, with two weights and pendulum.
