Profusely inlaid all over with brass boulle foliate scroll inlay over faux tortoise shell ground. Shaped serpentine bonnet with figural winged angel, engraved brass dial, enamel roman numerals in cartouche. Bombe style trunk, bronze masks and acanthus leaf accents, stepped ormolu mounted base. Unmarked movement, overall 89.25" h. x 32" x 14.5".

Belle Epoque Louis XV style ormolu cartel clock, 19th c, possibly Japy Freres, the asymmetrical crest plinth crowned with a trophy of quiver and torch 'en flambeau' surrounded by flowers, atop a rocaille-form cartouche centering a clock face (unsigned) with Roman and Arabic numerals on white enamel dial, with pendant acanthus, bellflower garlands, and roses beneath, the case apparently unmarked, the clock works marked "JP297" on interior, and with further scratch marks. 10.25" H x 5.75" W x 2.25" D.
