Louis XV Musical Contra-Boulle Clock with Bracket
Circa 1750, waisted case veneered with brass inlaid with stained shell, surmounted by a rococo urn and applied with leaf and shell mounts throughout, with a conforming wall bracket. Brass dial with 25 porcelain cartouches, signed STRAUBHAR A STRASBOURG (Johann Jakob Straubhaar, active 1721-1750) 3 train musical with nest of 8 bells chiming on quarter hours and playing one of 7 tunes on the hour. Clock trains with going barrels, music on fusee movement wound on right of clock. Hour strikes on large bell at top of clock.

A good 18th century French contra-boulle clock bracket. Having a cavetto-moulded superstructure with internal recess 10″ wide x 6″ deep, the oak body finely inlaid in brass, tortoiseshell, mother-of-pearl, green- and red-stained ivory with foliage and blossom (extensive losses), with cast mounts including urns and masks, 17″ x 9″ x 12″ high, (43cm x 23cm x 30.5cm) (A/F)

A late 19th century French Boulle Louis XV style bracket clock. 8-day time and strike movement with cast Bronze dial and porcelain markers with Roman numerals and engraved minutes with Apollo Mask pendulum. Movement marked "G L F". Black Boulle case with Brass Marquetry inlay and Gilded Bronze mounts including floral and flame finials, Caryatid corners, foliate scrolls, lower door medallion and turned feet. Minor wear, some older repairs, hairlines and minor edge damage to dial markers, running when cataloged. 29 3/4" high overall. ESTIMATE $2,000-3,000

Louis XV Quarter-Striking Musical Organ Bracket Clock
Circa 1750, ebonized wood and brass boulle case, 15 in. 25-piece cartouche dial with finely pierced hands and leaf-cast bezel, square plated two train quarter repeating movement with verge escapement, quarter repeating on two bells, the strike work mounted on the back plate, releasing the organ on the hour, massive Swiss organ movement in the base with twin barrels and tandem winding twin fusees, pinned wood barrel playing eight airs on seventeen pipes and a pair of bellows, inlaid with foliate brass design, outlined in rococo C-scroll, shell and leaf mounted, the front with an allegorical figure and baby dragon mask, concave cresting surmounted by an associated ormolu figure of Charles Martel called 'Martel the Hammer'
