Claude Grivolas, Paris, a model 305 torsion pendulum clock, the four glass case on a verde antico base with gilt mount featuring two putti and a chariot drawn by lions and flanked by Grecian braziers, the corners with colorless cut glass columns with gilt foliate capitals, and the top of shaped verde antico with conforming Grecian ornament, signed roman and arabic numeral white enamel dial with blued steel Breguet style hands, year going timepiece movement with dead beat escapement, serial # A10 – 2266 – 8, and lacquered disc pendulum, serial #2266

An early 20th century Claude Grivolas 400-day clock. 400-day time only movement with a convex porcelain dial and Arabic numerals, painted drape detail marked "Pendule 400 Jours, CG, Utilia" with Gilded engine turned bezel and torsion pendulum. Brass case with Gilded detail having a flat molded top over a beveled glass door flanked by reeded Corinthian columns and beveled side and rear glasses on a molded base with scrolled skirt. Fully marked on rear plate and base of pendulum with matching "2338" serial #'s. Very good condition with slight wear, married Grivolas dial, running when cataloged. 11 1/4" high. A rare mid 19th century torsion pendulum clock by Aaron D. Crane (American, 1804-1860), who invented the “Crane’s Patented Year Clock” and use of the torsion pendulum for that clock. These Patents were issued while Crane was living in Caldwell, New Jersey in 1829 and 1841.

Guilmet Lighthouse Torsion Pendulum Clock. The two tone pyramidal bronze case depicts a lighthouse built from bricks on a black marble base. The clock has a torsion pendulum with helical spring spinning behind beveled glass panels in the center of the dome, resembling light. Square plate movement has a Brocot escapement and coiled gong strike, signed GLT Paris and numbered 1094. In good condition, 23 in. high
