E. Howard Mahogany Hall Tree Clock. Original 10 in. painted metal dial signed ÂE. Howard & Co., Boston, has black Roman hour numerals and open moon hands; brass 8 day weight driven No. 5 movement signed ÂE. Howard & Co., Boston” and stamped #5, has a recoil escapement, gilt wood pendulum stick, brass covered bob, brass pulley & brass covered weight. The clock is contained in a tower on the left side of the hall tree with beveled glass door panel over the dial and exposing the weight & pendulum, broken arched crest with brass front mounts, brass finial, quarter fan and filigree carvings, has an open shelf over a single drawer, spiral turned posts and brass spindled cane holder gallery in the base. The right side has a single seat bench with carved arms, spiral turned spindles, mirrored and paneled back under a single shelf and 3 brass coat hooks on the right side front post with spiral turned finial. In good condition with an enhanced original finish. 104 in. high x 51 in. wide x 20 in. deep.

E. Howard & Co. Mahogany Mantle Clock. 5.5 in. silvered brass dial signed E. Howard & Co., Boston with black incised hour numbers and pierced black hands; brass 8 day spring driven time only movement signed E. Howard & Co. has silvered plates and lever escapement. Balance was replaced and has signature tag from watch maker ÂD.R. Schultz No. 3015ÂÂ, movement is not running. In a carved mahogany case with square spindled gallery, carved frieze border and spiral turned corner columns; in good condition with an overcoated original finish. Accompanied by a letter from the E. Howard Clock Co. (c.1980) stating the authenticity; clock has door & winding keys. 19.5 in. high x 15.5 in. wide x 9 in. deep
