A rare mahogany veneer 28″ shelf clock with flanking hollow columns to provide guides for the two weights that power this clock. The etched glass center glass is cracked.

A mid 19th century Seth Thomas Hollow Column shelf clock. 8-day time and strike brass movement stamped "S. Thomas, Plymouth, CONN, U.S.A." with a painted wooden dial. Mahogany double deck case with shaped crest, upper door with a mirrored lower panel, flanked by turned hollow columns, over a lower door with reverse painted tablet, on a stepped base with carved paw feet. Older refinishing with minor damage, replaced paper dial, restores crest and feet, running when cataloged. 35" high. ESTIMATE $300-400
