Circa 1850 American Chauncey Jerome, New Haven 30 Hour Shelf Clock with 7″ Good original painted wood dial with slight flaking, Brass movement with wood mounted detached fusees, Figured mahogany shelf clock with rare movement and very good reverse painting depicting State Street in Boston. Good condition with normal wear needs cleaning. 23.5″H x 15″W x 4.5″D

Chauncey Jerome Mahogany Detached Double Fusee Steeple Mantle Clock. 5 in. replaced metal dial has black Roman hour numeral and replaced blued hands, signed Chauncey Jerome, New Haven, Conn.; brass detached double fusee movement has an hour strike on a coiled gong and long drop pendulum hanging from the top of the case and brass covered pendulum bob, movement signed Chauncey Jerome, New Haven Conn. In a mahogany steeple style case with conical turned finials and reverse painted tablet with lyre and border; paper label in the back of the case for Chauncey Jerome. Case is refinished, tablet paint is worn and faded, and strike mechanism is not working. 19.5 in. high x 10 in. wide x 4.25 in. deep.

Original 5 in. painted metal dial has black Roman hour numerals, fancy hands and cutout center exposing the escapement; brass double detached fusee spring driven movement with hour strike on a coiled gong, brass pendulum bob, movement and paper label in the back of the case are signed Birge & Fuller, Bristol, Conn. In a mahogany double steeple case with 2 turned spires on either side of the case and turned feet, original reverse painted lower tablet and door glasses, center glass is cracked, overcoated finish, few minor chips to the tips of the spires, 2 columns on the left side are turned in oak. 26 in. high x 13.75 in. wide x 3 in. deep.
