An early 19th century shelf clock by "Chauncey Ives, Bristol, Connecticut". 30-hour weight driven wooden time and strike movement with a painted wooden dial and Roman numerals. Mahogany case with stenciled splat and pilasters and single long door with clear upper glass and mirrored lower with flat base. Old finish with some wear, replaced base, running momentarily when cataloged. 35 1/4" high. ESTIMATE $200-400

Chauncey Ives Jester Top Shelf Clock. Mahogany case with original stenciled columns and old finish. Original painted wood dial with some strengthening to numbers. Orignal reverse painted glass. 30 hour time and strike weight driven movement. Ht 31 1/2″.

Chauncey Ives Pillar & Scroll Clock. Painted wood dial has a faded 10 in. chapter ring with black Arabic hour numbers and gilt spandrels, fancy black pierced hands; wooden works movement has count wheel strike mechanism, iron weights with wood pulleys, iron bell & brass covered pendulum bob. In a mahogany pillar & scroll case, has a broken arch crest, heavy brass finials, turned side columns and valanced feet; original reverse painted lower tablet; minor loss to apron, crack in dial glass. 31 in. high x 16.5 in. wide x 4 in. deep.

Chauncey Ives Pillar & Scroll Clock: wood, weight driven movement with bell strike, 10 1/2″ wood dial and good interior label. In a mahogany and veneer case with one missing wood finial. With weights, pendulum and key.
(Cracked upper glass and original, but worn lower glass. The dial has some lost and crazed paint. The veneer on the splat is stressed and has lines in it. The wood finish is original and also has a stressed look.)
30″T and running at this time.
