Birge brass strap plate weight driven movement, countwheel strike mechanism with coiled gong, iron side weights and brass pendulum bob. Original B.B. Lewis lower perpetual calendar, 8 in dial with 31 date chapter ring and month indicator inside; Welch Spring Co. label in the back of the case. Rosewood case has bevel framed doors with long gilt half columns on the sides and ebonized trim. 30 in. high x 17 in. wide x 4.5 in. deep.

Welch, Forestville, CT. The rosewood case has an octagonal form with rounded front corners, brass door bezel has a beveled glass, large partial paper label on the backboard of the case.
