A 1930's period Waltham "No. 8514" model Colonial shelf clock. 8-day jeweled time only movement with a painted metal dial and Roman numerals. Mahogany case with carved Eagle crest and Brass finials over a door with reverse painted glasses and applied rope trim. Original finish with some wear, Brass tarnished, running when cataloged. 12 1/4" high. ESTIMATE $300-400

The dial is signed in the lower quarter “The Arthur Pequegnat Clock Co. Berlin, Canada”. The movement is stamped “Pequegnat Clock Co. Berlin, Ont.”. 6″ x 15.5″ x 11″. Original quarter cut oak case. Double wood columns on either side have cast metal capitals and bases. Uniform craze to the finish on the top, sides and base. The painted metal dial shows evidence of professional touch up around the centre of the dial. The hinge has been re-soldered and is slightly loose. Mechanism complete with correct pendulum assembly and winding key.

Dial signed, “The Arthur Pequegnat Clock Co. Berlin, Canada.”. Full paper label is affixed to the centre rear door and is marked, “The Arthur Pequegnat Clock Co., Berlin, Canada”. Movement stamped, “Pequegnat Clock Co. Berlin, Ont.”. Full paper label lower rear quarter below the door. 6.5″ x 15.5″ x 10.5″. Quarter cut oak case in original finish. The bezel hinge is loose. The rear panel door has a slight warp. Mechanism complete with pendulum assembly and winding key.
