Seth Thomas No. 8 Office Calendar Clock. Original 14 in. painted metal dial has black Roman hour numerals, black spade hands and sub seconds dial; 8 day brass weight driven time only movement signed with the Seth Thomas trade mark, has pyramidal shaped plates, Graham deadbeat escapement, maintaining power, iron side weight and long wood pendulum stick with brass covered bob. Original 14 in. painted metal lower calendar dial has 31 black painted date numbers and open apertures exposing the month and day cylinders of the perpetual calendar mechanism. In a large beautiful case with canopy top, carved corner finials over turned corner columns, raised beveled panels and lower drop exposing the pendulum. Clock is all original and in excellent condition, original painted dials, case is original finish; missing canopy roof on the top of the case. 63 in. high x 24 in. wide x 8.5 in. deep.

Brass, time only, 8 day, weight driven movement with maintaining power, deadbeat escapement, long drop pendulum, with ebonized stick and brass covered bob, brass covered side weight with brass pulley; typical perpetual calendar mechanism in good running condition and has original labels. In a cherry case with carved corner spandrels and carved lower bracket, metal name tag on the front for the jeweler ÂM.L. Sheehan, 785 Â 8th Ave, NYÂ; case has an original finish which shows some roughness and clock is missing its crest. 46 in. high x 17 in. wide x 7.5 in. deep.

American Seth Thomas Rare & Unusual “Office Calendar #5″, Circa 1885, 14” original painted dials, minor flaking on dials, 8-day, brass weight driven calendar movement, very rare large walnut calendar clock with unique burl panels & unusual carving, upper dial has advertising for “John Finzer & Bros. Boot Jack Tobacco”, an advanced collector’s item with 1876 centennial patent date, excellent refinished condition with repairs to bottom case door, movements need cleaning & seem to work well. Height 47″.
