An early 20th century Seth Thomas "No. 23" model grandfather clock. 8-day weight driven No. 72 A movement with dead beat escapement, half hour Cathedral gong strike, a round Silvered dial with Arabic numerals and subsidiary seconds. Mahogany case with molded Swan neck pediment and turned finial above a fan carved frieze and square dial door with circular glass flanked by shaped fluted columns with cast Gilded capitols and bases over a waist door with beveled glass flanked by chamfered corners on a paneled base with short flared feet. Restored finish with slight wear, movement recently overhauled, running and striking correctly when cataloged. 20 1/2 x 13 x 97 1/2" high overall. ESTIMATE $1,000-2,000

Seth Thomas Mahogany Grandfather Clock. Brass dial has a 12 in. silvered chapter ring with applied brass hour numbers, silvered sub seconds dial, etched gilt and pierced brass filigree decorated center and corner spandrels with moon phase dial at the top, dial signed Seth Thomas; brass weight driven movement has Graham deadbeat escapement, retaining power, quality 3 spoke brass pulleys, brass covered weights, brass covered pendulum bob with ebonized wood stick, movement unsigned, has a quarter hour Westminster strike on 4 cupped bells and coiled cathedral gong striking the hour. The mahogany carved case has a broken arched crest with center finial and turned side columns on the bonnet, turned and fluted half columns on the body with beveled glass door and inset filigree carved panel in the base. Inside of the case has a jewelers tag for ÂG.V. Turgeon & Co., JewelersÂ, original finish. 96 in. high x 22.5 in. wide x 15.5 in. deep.

An early 19th century British Grandfather clock. 8-day time and strike movement with engraved Brass dial and Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and date aperture marked "Will. Martin, Glasgow". Mahogany case with broken arch crest over an arched dial door flanked by turned columns with Brass capitols and bases above a narrow waist with long arched door and paneled base with short bracket feet. Older refinishing with restoration to the case and dial, running when cataloged. 91" high. ESTIMATE $800-1,200

Thomas & Hoadley Grandfather Clock Movement: wood, weight driven with painted wood dial, 11 1/2″ wide. The paint is all original and includes birds at the top. Thomas & Hoadley of Plymouth, Connecticut worked together circa 1810-1813 according to Brittens.
