A 19th century Seth Thomas No. 1 Extra Model wall clock. 8-day weight driven time and strike movement, painted metal dial with Roman numerals. Rosewood case with a molded dial door with clear glass and lower reverse painted door and short molded drop. Thomaston label and paper beat scale 90% intact. Older finish with minor wear, restored dial, replaced weights and pendulum hanger, running when cataloged. 42" high overall. ESTIMATE $2,000-3,000

Seth Thomas Regulator No. 1 Extra: 14 1/2″ metal dial with an 8 day time and gong striking movement. Lower glass and pendulum are original and driven by 2 weights. The interior sliding panel for weight access is intact. The brass pendulum ball has a factory view and Seth Thomas info stamped into it. Made at Plymouth Hollow.
(The dial shows some wear and paint loss, the very bottom piece of the case is a replacement and there are some minor veneer problems.)

A 42″ wall regulator by the Seth Thomas Clock Company, ca 1875, featuring a rosewood veneer case with a decagon bezel and bracketed pendulum box having a reverse painted and lenticated glass, showing the original brass embossed pendulum. Seth Thomas bought the patent for this “regulator wall clock” from Silas Terry for $750.00 in 1859.

Seth Thomas # 1 Extra Wall Regulator, 8 day time only, weight driven, 14″ dial with seconds bit and a copper finished pendulum bob. Circa 1860’s-1870’s.
(The case has been restored, the veneer replaced at bottom of case and the top right at about 2:00, there is some roughness on the bezel and the glass has been replaced on the bottom door as well as the gold trim.
