Seth Thomas # 1 Extra Wall Regulator, 8 day time only, weight driven, 14″ dial with seconds bit and a copper finished pendulum bob. Circa 1860’s-1870’s.
(The case has been restored, the veneer replaced at bottom of case and the top right at about 2:00, there is some roughness on the bezel and the glass has been replaced on the bottom door as well as the gold trim.

Seth Thomas No. 1 Extra Weight Driven Wall Regulator. 14 in. painted metal dial with black Roman hour numerals, spade hands and sub seconds dial; Brass 8 day, weight driven movement has retaining power, count wheel strike mechanism, coiled gong with iron mount, gilt wood pendulum stick with brass covered bob, pyramidal iron side weights. The walnut case has a 10 sided top with rounded door bezel and lower door with reverse painted & gilt leaf tablet. In good condition, has minor paint flaking to the dial and tablet. 42 in. high x 20 in. wide x 6.5 in. deep.

Seth Thomas Regulator No. 1 Extra. 14 in. painted metal dial has black Roman hour numerals, blued spade hands and sub seconds dial; 8 day, early round brass weight driven movement, proper iron weight, gilt wood pendulum stick with brass pendulum bob. The case has has a 10 sided top with round door bezel and original glass, lower door has a reverse painted and gilt glass with some paint loss. The case is missing all veneer and the dial has some paint flaking. 41 in. high x 20 in. wide x 5 in. deep.

Seth Thomas Regulator No. 1 Extra: 14 1/2″ metal dial with an 8 day time and gong striking movement. Lower glass and pendulum are original and driven by 2 weights. The interior sliding panel for weight access is intact. The brass pendulum ball has a factory view and Seth Thomas info stamped into it. Made at Plymouth Hollow.
(The dial shows some wear and paint loss, the very bottom piece of the case is a replacement and there are some minor veneer problems.)

A 42″ wall regulator by the Seth Thomas Clock Company, ca 1875, featuring a rosewood veneer case with a decagon bezel and bracketed pendulum box having a reverse painted and lenticated glass, showing the original brass embossed pendulum. Seth Thomas bought the patent for this “regulator wall clock” from Silas Terry for $750.00 in 1859.
