Jerome & Co. Gutta Percha Cottage Clock. Original 5 in. painted metal dial with black Roman hour numerals, fancy pierced hands and octagonal cutout in the center exposing the alarm indicator disc; brass spring driven movement is singed ÂN. Pomeroy, Bristol, CTÂ, has a count wheel hour strike mechanism on a coiled gong and separate alarm mechanism below striking on an iron bell. Rosewood cottage style case with ebonized beveled edges, oval miniature lithograph home scene in the tablet with carved gutta percha borders around the litho and dial. Clock is in good running condition, nice original finish, has minor loss and touchup to the dial. 15.75 in. high x 12.25 in. wide x 4.75 in. deep.

Alarm. 5 in. painted metal dial with black Roman hour numerals, fancy blued hands and open cutout exposing the alarm indicator disc; brass spring driven movement with hour count wheel strike on a coiled gong, brass covered pendulum bob and separate spring driven alarm mechanism striking on an iron bell. In a rosewood arched top case with gutta percha panel behind the door glass and framing a miniature French river scene; case is in good condition and has an enhanced original finish, signed on a paper label on the back of the door. 14.5 in. high x 11 in. wide x 4.75 in. deep.

Brass time only spring driven movement, repousse filigree brass covered pendulum bob; movement is inverted with long drop pendulum hanging from the top with crutch pointing upwards and escapement at the bottom of the movement, signed ÂChauncey Jerome, New Haven, ConnÂ. In a mahogany case with dark alligatored finish, original reverse painted door glass having some minor inpainting and overall white paint spatters. 12 in. high.
