An early 20th century Winterhalder & Hofmeier Lantern clock. High quality 8-day time and strike movement with quarter hour striking on two cast bells, a Brass dial with Silvered chapter ring, Roman numerals and cast spandrels. Brass case with upper bell support, cast reticulated crests, turned columns and feet, with cast Sun masks on side access doors. Plaque at front states "Presented to, Richard Clowes, by A J Worthington & Co., Portland Mills, Leek, as a mark of esteem on the, completion of Fifty Years, service with the firm, May 28th, 1895". Minor wear, tarnish on chapter ring, running when cataloged. 15 3/4" high. ESTIMATE $1,000-1,500
