J.C. Brown Rosewood Cottage Clock: Original metal dial with signature and location. Also the lower plate has a portrait of J.C.. Brown. 8 day time and gong strike. There is a good interior label and it has an ivory door handle.
(Dial is chipped at the screw holes, the back board has a rodent hole on the lower right corner.)

Unusual 8 day movement patented by Charles Kirk has pierced brass front plate and iron rear plate, single spring driven with patented double wheel lever type escapement with large balance wheel, count wheel one hour strike mechanism also powered by the mainspring & strikes on a steel bell; signed C. KirkÂs Patent, New Haven CT, AD 1847. In a rosewood cottage style case with a beautiful enhanced original finish. Paper label on the back for Marine Clock Manufacturing Company, New Haven, Conn., U.S. 11.5 in. high x 9.25 in. wide x 3 in. deep.

J.C. Brown Rosewood Miniature Steeple Clock. 4.5 in. painted metal dial (replaced), has black Roman hour numerals, fancy hands and signed J.C. Brown, Forestville, Ct. U.S.; brass spring driven movement signed J.C. Brown, Forestville, Ct. U.S., has an hour count wheel strike mechanism on a coiled gong and brass covered pendulum bob. In a rosewood steeple form case with turned spire finials, nice enhanced original finish and lyre decorated reverse frosted tablet; paper label in the back of the case for J.C. Brown. Movement is not running, upper glass is replaced. 16 in. high x 8.5 in. wide x 3.5 in. deep.
