George Hatch American Weight Driven Banjo Clock. Original 7 in. metal dial (old repaint) has black Roman hour numerals and pierced hands; typical 8 day brass weight driven time only banjo clock movement with recoil escapement, iron weight, brass pulley, long wood pendulum stick with brass bob and partial lockdown hardware. In a mahogany, banjo style case with round door bezel with original glass, reverse painted throat glass and reverse painted lower door glass are both original with some paint flaking and no inpainting; case is stamped ÂD.L.W. for David L. Williams. Case has an enhanced original finish, pendulum stick is replaced, throat has a split at the lower left screw hole. 29 in. high x 11 in. wide x 3.75 in. deep.

In a mahogany banjo style case with round door bezel, reverse painted tablet and throat glasses with gilt borders, replaced weight baffle in the throat, dial has some over paint touchup and repainted signature. Has a beautiful enhanced original finish. 29 in. high x 10 in. wide x 4 in. deep.

Original 8 in. painted metal dial has black Roman hour numerals and black hands; typical brass weight driven time only 8 day movement has a steel pendulum rod and brass covered bob, brass pulley with lead weight. Mahogany banjo style case has brass door bezel with convex glass, pierced brass side arms, reverse painted throat glass and reverse painted lower tablet with Apollo scene; rope twisted carving around the lower door & throat frame and turned acorn finial on top. Gilt finish is worn from the finial, door & throat framework, throat is glued in place, lower tablet is an old replacement, dial has some flaking & paint loss with some inpainting, the case is refinished and the side arms are not attached. 31 in. high x 10 in. wide x 4 in. deep.

Caldwell & Co., PhiladelphiaÂ, has open moon hands and black Roman hour numerals; brass 8 day weight driven time only movement signed Chelsea Clock Co., Boston, U.S.A., numbered 102236, has a wood pendulum stick with brass covered bob, brass pulley and iron weight. In a mahogany case with brass door bezel, gilt brass eagle finial, pierced brass side arms, gilt rope twist carved frame work around the throat and lower door; reverse painted throat glass with filigree and oval portrait of George Washington, reverse painted tablet with scene of the Mt. Vernon homestead. In good condition, case has an original finish, glasses have some flaking and paint loss, replaced hour hand, throat has a split and repair in the bottom tab. 40 in. high x 10 in. wide x 4 in. deep.
