DESCRIPTION: French Empire mantel clock featuring roman numerals at the gilt dial and black hands framed by a wreath of flowers in relief, decorated with a scholarly depiction of a maiden with two putti in relief at the face, and completed by a winged man holding a tablet alongside a pedestal. Partial black marking worn off at the dial.

19th century French Empire gilt bronze mantel clock, modeled as the Empress Josephine seated with a cornucopia above the clock face with two wind holes, overall with symbols of Napoleon's empire and reign, with pendulum. [16 1/4" H x 12" W x 4 3/4" D]. Lacking key. Mounts loose, some bending, areas of oxidation and residue, lacking screws.

first quarter 19th century, of Aurora carrying a torch, pulling away her star-studded cloak to reveal sun rays peaking over the clock, the clock supported by putti blowing wind, a cockerell to one side, the base decorated with mounts of putti supporting a basket of flowers, flanked by swan-supported baskets, mounted with a silk-string suspension movement.

An early 19th century French Empire Gilt Bronze mantel clock. 8-day time and strike movement with silk thread suspension, cast bronze dial with engine turned center and porcelain chapter ring with Roman numerals. Gilded Bronze with an allegorical figure of "Spring" holding a basket of flowers. Minor surface wear, hairlines in chapter ring, replaced pendulum, running momentarily when cataloged. 17" high.
