Enamel & Gilt Brass Musical Annular Egg Clock. The egg has a cobalt enameled surface with fancy gilt brass mounts, engraved plinth pedestal base with corbeled design and mounted with beautiful pearl and turquoise jewels; has a time only spring driven 15 jewel Swiss movement signed “Looping” with balance wheel and lever escapement rotating the engine turned gilt chapter ring which has applied Roman hour numerals and a serpent shaped indicator which wraps around the stem of the base. Inside the bottom of the egg is a Swiss cylinder spring driven music box signed “Reuge” which is in good running condition, missing 2 pearl mounts; movement is stem wind and set through the finial on the top. 9.75 in. high.
