Stenciled half columns, hand painted splat, original dial with raised gilt corners, reverse painted glass tablet, claw feet, wooden works, weight driven, label, “Patent Clocks, Invented by Eli Terry, Made and Sold in Plymouth, Conn. by Eli Terry & Son”. Measures approx. 31 1/2″ tall x 17 1/2″ wide x 4″ deep. Many Eli Terry Clocks which depict a home or building on the reverse painted glass tablet, are actual homes in the Town of Plymouth and surrounding Connecticut towns of the time period.

Henry Terry Stenciled column and splat shelf clock, c. 1830. Stenciled half columns and splat with fruit bowl, hand painted dial with raised gilt, reverse painted glass tablet with heart-shaped apeture, claw feet, nice label with American Eagle “Patent Clocks, Invented by Eli Terry, Made and Sold at Plymouth, Connecticut by Henry Terry”. 30 hour wooden works weight driven shelf clock. Measures approx. 30″ high x 18″ wide x 5″ deep.

Eli Terry Carved Pillar Shelf Clock: the interior label states it was manufactured for George Mitchell. Wood, weight driven bell striking movement and 10″ wood dial. The case is mahogany and veneer with carved paw feet, columns and splat.
(It works for a bit, then quits. The bottom glass is a replacement. The ivory key hole frame for the door is gone. No key.)
