E. Howard No. 2 Weight Driven Banjo Clock. Original 10″ painted metal dial signed “E. Howard & Co., Boston” has black Roman hour numerals and open moon hands; brass 8 day weight driven time only movement signed “E. Howard & Co., Boston”, has a solid brass pulley with original iron No. 2 weight, gilt wood pendulum stick with brass covered bob and lockdown hardware on the weight baffle. In an excellent rosewood grained banjo-style case with original reverse painted black, red and gold leaf tablet and throat glass; setup instructions paper label in the bottom of the case. Excellent original finish, some paint flaking to glasses, minor seam repair at lower door hinge. 44″ high x 17.75″ wide x 5″ deep.

Original 10″ paper on zinc dial signed “Howard & Davis, Boston” with black Roman hour numerals and open moon hands; brass 8 day weight driven time only movement signed “Howard & Davis, Boston” with recoil escapement, long ebonized wood pendulum stick with brass covered bob and a solid brass pulley. In a rosewood grained banjo style case with original reverse painted black and gold leaf tablet and throat glass. Case in enhanced original finish, tablet and throat glass overpainted black, repairs to the head of the case at 4 & 8, weight damage repair at the base, replaced pendulum stick, replaced hands, missing weight, split in the upper “tab” of the throat; running. 44″ high x 14″ wide x 5.5″ deep.

Howard Weight Driven #1 Banjo Clock: signed E. Howard & Co., time only weight driven movement with old 10 1/2″ dial. The names on it are faded, but readable on an angle- W.J.R.R. Riggs & Bros. Phila. The case is rosewood and has a replaced small piece of wood and a missing section on the round head of the clock.
(The seconds dial is showing wear.)

Howard Weight Driven #2 Banjo Clock: time only weight driven movement with original 9 1/2″ dial. In a case resembling rosewood. The lower door has Eli Holden-Boston on it. The movement is signed E. Howard & Co. Boston. No key. Did not test.
(The dial is crazed all over. The edges of the pendulum ball are cracked and split, showing the zinc interior.)
