A good quality early 20th century British Grandfather clock. 8-day weight driven movement with quarter hour Westminster chime on a nest of eight bells, with coiled hour gong, a Brass dial with Silvered chapter ring and Roman numerals, upper Chime/Silent and seconds subsidiary dials flanked by cast spandrels. Mahogany case with extensive inlaid urn and foliate detail features molded Swan neck pediment with turned Brass finial above an arched dial door flanked by fluted Brass columns over an arched inlaid waist door flanked by Satinwood banding, all on a paneled base with scrolled plinth. Restored finish with only slight wear, movement recently overhauled, running and striking correctly when cataloged. 20 x 12 1/2 x 95 1/2" high overall. ESTIMATE $2,000-4,000

J.J. Elliott Inlaid Mahogany Grandfather Clock. Large 12 in. silvered dial with a brass backplate signed ÂElliott, LondonÂ, has applied brass hour numbers, engraved center, sub seconds dial, brass filigree corner spandrels and arched moon phase dial at the top; quality brass weight driven movement signed ÂJ.J. Elliot, 5 Percival St., London and ÂH&H for Harris & Harrington, numbered 8154, has a deadbeat escapement, half hour strike on a single tube, brass pulleys, 2 brass covered weights and brass covered pendulum bob with steel pendulum stick. In a mahogany case with broken arched crest having turned finials, filigree and ribbon inlays, turned corner columns on the bonnet, turned quarter columns on the body with beveled glass on the front door and stands on claw feet. In very good condition with a nice enhanced original finish. 103 in. high x 26 in. wide x 17 in. deep.

Pieter Van Eeden Dutch Inlaid Grandfather Clock. c.18th Century. Brass dial has a 12 in. silvered chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals and Arabic 5 minute markers outside, sub seconds dial, calendar aperture, cutout with silvered figure of father time which is animated with the pendulum, silvered ring outside reads Tempus Fugit and signed Pieter Van Eeden, Amsterdam. Brass weight driven movement has an hour strike on an iron bell at the top of the movement, brass pulleys, brass covered weights and pendulum rod with brass covered bob. The walnut case is beautifully inlaid with birds, urns, flowers and filigree with turned columns on the bonnet and turned feet. In very good condition, no missing inlays, has a good old refinish. 93 in. high x 18 in. wide x 9 in. deep.

Mahogany case with classic broken arch top with fluted and carved columns in the hood, shaped molded waist door, fluted quarter columns and a molded base. 8-day, weight driven time and strike movement with a painted iron dial marked "Jn. B Booth, Manchester" having an upper moon phase aperture. Older refinishing with wear and some older restoration, some flaking on dial, running when cataloged. 88" high overall. ESTIMATE $800-1,200

Mahogany Inlaid Grandfather Clock. Brass dial has a 12 in. silvered chapter ring with black incised Roman hour numerals and 5 minute numbers outside, brass sub seconds dial pierced filigree with cherubs heads on the corner spandrels, dolphins on the arch and sub dial for Silent/Chime; has original pierced hands and signed on a silvered tag Lloyd Payne Amiel, Manchester. Brass 8 day weight driven movement has a recoil escapement, rack strike on a coiled gong, quality brass pulleys, missing the 2 weights and has a steel pendulum rod with brass bob. In a Sheraton style inlaid mahogany case with broken arched crest on the bonnet, turned brass center finial, chamfered corners and pierced carved side panels; the body of the case has an urn and filigree inlaid design with griffins head on the door and fancy inlaid design in the base. In good condition, has an age crack in the base and a polished original finish. 90 in. high x 20 in. wide x 14 in. deep.
