Gilbert is the maker on this alarm wall hung kitchen clock and there is an 1881 patent date on the ornate piece for the striker, original tablet with pulled apart drapes and tassels, fish scale trim above the original face, old but not original finish, 28″ tall by 14″ wide.

On the backplate of the mechanism is Pat. Nov. 1, 1881, William Gilbert, molded china case with shells, scrolling and floral transfers, round face with ornate brass molding and door covering, surface crazing as you would expect, 10″ tall by 8″ wide.

Walnut Kitchen Clock, Pat. Nov. 22, 1881: 8 day time with gong striking movement, 6″ dial and fancy pendulum. Unmarked other than the patent date on the movement.
(Running, but the strike will not activate. The dial is worn and dirty. The door glass looks new. No key.)
