New Haven Crystal Regulator Thoreau. 4 in. inset porcelain dial signed New Haven Clock Co., New Haven, Conn., USA, has original black hands, black hour numbers and an exposed Brocot escapement with brass pallets; round brass 8 day spring driven movement is unsigned, has an half hour rack & snail strike on a coiled gong, brass 2 jar mercurial pendulum, in good running condition.Cast white metal case having a gilt painted finish with finial top, flowing rococo filigree on the top and base, beveled glass on the sides and on the front & rear doors. In good condition and running, screw securing the pendulum bob is replaced. 15 in. high.

New Haven Thoreau Crystal Regulator: 4″ porcelain dial with visible escapement. 8 day half hour strike with cathedral gong. 2 flat and 2 beveled glass plates. Two cylinder simulated mercury pendulum.

(The exterior finish is heavily worn, the drop curl on the upper right corner is repaired and the outer dial ring has several hairline fractures.)
