Rare Hopkins & Alfred mahogany pillar and scroll clock, Harwinton, Connecticut, three brass urn finials, scroll top case, free standing turned columns, hand painted dial with flower corners and raised gilt, very nice label with full American Eagle E. Pluribus Unum, “Made and Sold by Hopkins & Alfred, Harwinton, Conn.” Wooden works, weight driven thirty-hour clock, key wind, pendulum, measures approx. 30″ tall X 17 1/2″ wide X 5″ deep.

Hopkins & Alfred Wood Works Shelf Clock: weight driven, bell strike, 10″ wood dial. Good interior label. In a mahogany and veneer case with paw feet, stenciled columns and splat. Weights, pendulum and key are with it. The label states this clock was sold by Thomas Moses of Wolcottville, Conn.
(No glass, no hands. The door has some veneer loss and needs some repair. The wood finish and paint are original and showing wear. One foot is chipped, some dial paint is missing; needs new wood inside to support the dial. Not running.)

Hopkins & Alfred Wood Works Shelf Clock: weight driven, bell strike, legible interior label and original glass plates. The wood dial is 10″ wide and original also. The case has paw feet, stenciled columns and splat; made of mahogany and veneer.
(One toe on both feet are chipped. The strike does not activate. The veneer strip between the glass plates has some separations. The mirror is deteriorating.)

A 19th century Hopkins & Alfred (Harwington, Conn) shelf clock. 30 hr time and strike weight driven wooden movement with painted wooden dial. Mahogany case with shaped crown and stenciled decoration on crest and columns, single door with clear upper and reverse painted lower glasses, flanked by applied half columns on carved paw feet. Older finish in fair condition, wear to glass decoration, minor veneer chips. 29″ high.

Hopkins & Alfred Pillar & Scroll Clock. Painted wood dial has a 10 in. chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals with gilt center embellishments and spandrels, blued pierced diamond hands; wooden works movement has count wheel strike mechanism on an iron bell, brass covered pendulum bob. In a mahogany case with broken arch crest, gilt brass finials, long turned columns and valenced apron; reverse painted tablet is broken and reinforced in the back. Paper label for Hopkins & Alfred, Harwinton Conn. Refinished, has a small piece of veneer missing from the door. 31 in. high x 17 in. wide x 4.5 in. deep.

Hopkins & Alfred Pillar & Scroll Clock: 8 day weight driven wood works with bell strike and a 9 1/2″ wood dial. In a mahogany and veneer case with good interior label, original upper and replaced lower glass plate. The brass finials are original. With key.
(The stem for mounting 1 finial is gone. A scroll on the case’s top is partly gone. The clock is running for awhile, then quits. Strike does not activate.)
