Brass dial signed “Herschede” has an 11 in. silvered chapter ring with applied brass hour numbers, silvered sub seconds dial, moon phase with silvered arch, sub dials for Chime/Silent & Westminster/ Whittington/ Canterbury chimes, fancy pierced brass and engraved center & corner spandrels with pierced hands; brass 8 day weight driven movement signed “Herschede, 635679” with crown, has deadbeat escapement, maintaining power, quality brass pulleys, brass covered weights & pendulum bob with lyre sash and steel pendulum stick, 9 silvered tubes. In an excellent burled walnut case highlighted with brass strapped corners and edges, Bombay style base, broken arch crest with seashell pediment and carved corner finials; brass plaque inside of the door reads “American Made – By Herschede – The Clock – Model 250”. Excellent condition and original finish, has original owner’s manual dated “Feb. 23, 1977”, has original door and winding key. 97 in. high x 24 in. wide x 14 in. deep.
