Mid 19th century; clock with stamped brass face and enameled Roman numerals, dial marked "Mengin Acrepy-En Valloy" with carved shaped oak case, 97.5 in. H., 19 in. W. at base, 11 in. D.
From the Estate of L. Thomas Galloway, Washington, DC, noted collector of modern and contemporary art and antique clocks. Purchased on Ebay from Antique Furniture Depot, 2010.

The asymmetrically shaped clock case with gilded metal mounts and ornate highly embossed dial is set with a time and strike movement signed Ansonia. The ebonized wood portico clock with Boulle type inlays and porcelain enamel dial, unsigned brass plate time and strike clock movement, no pendulum.
