French Rotary Pendulum Time & Strike Conical Clock: the time and bell striking movement is encased in a ball, the same as used on free swinging clocks. It is marked Medaille Dor-CLT-BTE-SCDC-Paris and numbered 8034. The bronze tripod shape holds the now missing string supported pendulum. The short pedestal is made of slate, under that is a bronze support with 3 adjustable feet. The clock will run and strike; tested by hand. Preserved under a not original glass dome with wood base.

A very collectible novelty clock featuring the Briggs rotary pendulum. The 9″ high desk and novelty clock was patented in 1856 by J.C. Briggs. The earlier models used pins for the plates, while others were manufactured by J. W. Brown and the E. N. Welch companies in the 1870s.

Figural Conical Pendulum Mystery Clock. Standing gilt spelter figure of a standing robed maiden, in her left hand she holds up the pendulum. Hanging from 3 chains, under a large silk thread suspension cluster is a purple luster sphere containing the spring driven time only movement (numbered 8084) with a conical platform at the top, a long stalactite post drops in the center into the spinning horizontal bar at the top of the verge; the dial of the sphere has applied brass Roman hour numerals. The spring inside the movement drives the mystery escapement at the top as the conical bob hanging in the center swings around clockwise. A very rare and unusual clock in good working condition. 20.5 in. high.

Rare Diana Conical Pendulum Mystery Clock. Standing bronze figure of Diana the Huntress, she is wearing a robe and holds a bow with a quiver of arrows at her left side, in her right hand she holds the pendulum. Hanging from 3 chains, under a large 4 spring suspension cluster is a cobalt sphere; containing the spring driven movement with a conical platform at the top, teardrop acorn bob hangs in the center and the dial of the sphere and has applied brass Roman hour numerals. The spring inside the movement drives the mystery escapement at the top as the conical bob hanging in the center swings around clockwise, has an hour and half hour bell strike. A very rare and unusual clock in very good working condition. 27.5 in. high.

French Figural Dore Bronze & Alabaster Conical Pendulum Mystery Clock. Standing bronze classical robed female figure holding an urn in one hand and the pendulum in the other, hanging from a silk thread suspension, figure is unsigned; white alabaster base has dore bronze side mounts & feet. 4 in. gilt metal dial has applied brass Roman hour numerals and gilt spade hands; round brass 8 day spring driven movement signed Japy Freres et Cie., has an half hour strike with a bell, movement has a vertical post connected to a lever at the top of the movement which rotates the pendulum clockwise. Clock is in working condition, figure has a nice dark brown patina and old minor repairs to the front corners of the base. 35 in. high x 18 in. wide x 9.5 in. deep.

the gilt spelter figural clock of a woman holding the starred blue ball style pendulum. Raised on a onyx and malachite stepped plinth with gilt mounts encasing the Japy Freres eight day bell strike movement. The gilt dial with marked with merchant’s name, “James Neill and Co. Belfast,” base figure surround stamped, “P.H. Mourey.” Malachite later addition. 23″H, Circa – 1880.

the gilt bronze statue of a nymph teasing a putti by holding the crystal pendulum high, standing on an onyx base with gilt ormolu mounts and dial, raised on four scrolled feet. The brass eight day movement stamped, “Brevette GLT SGDG.” Professional repair to arm. 22″H, Circa – 1880.
