Figural Timepiece Clock Peddler. The standing spelter figure of a clock peddler wears a top hat with a black coat and red trousers, he balances himself with a walking stick, on the front of his chest he wears a clock, having a painted dial with black hands, spring driven movement and long pendulum, in his left hand he holds a pair of clock weights and on his back is an empty clock case; movement is running. 16 in high

American “Patent Timepiece” Banjo Clock, Circa 1825, 7 1/2″ painted zinc dial refitted from old parts from another clock, 8-day, brass weight driven movement, early 19th century mahogany “patent timepiece” made by a Willard family contemporary, 1/2 round molding with glazed panels, even with its hurts it still is a beautiful & well made timepiece that compares favorably to Massachusetts’ South shore timepieces, as outlined in chapter ten of Paul Foley’s 2002 book “Willard’s Patent Time Pieces” (available at www.roxburyvillagepublishing.com), case with minor wear and loss on 2 corners, reverse painted tablets are Victorian replacements, movement complete and running. Height 33″.

French Animated Locomotive Industrial Clock. Excellent bronze case in the form of a steam locomotive on a black marble base with rails, has a stick thermometer on the front of the funnel and large 3 in. paper dial compass in the top, aneroid barometer with 2.5 in. silvered dial mounted in the boiler and timepiece mounted on the side of the cab; wheels are animated by an independent spring driven movement mounted under the train, has cow catcher in the front. Timepiece has a 3.5 in. silvered dial with black hour numbers, brass door bezel with beveled crystal, round brass 8 day spring driven movement has a platform lever escapement and half hour strike on a bell; running, clock strikes, animated mechanism is functional. 16.5 in. high x 20 in. wide x 9 in. deep. Weight: 31.25 lbs.
