This remarkable, large, figural clock depicts a cherub with girl atop a column hung with laurels. Sculpted by Auguste Moreau and with a Japy Freres Honneur clock movement, this spelter cased clock has the appearance of bronze. Measures 27 1/2"H X 12"W. The bezel and pendulum is missing and the children are loose on the base. There is some corrosion. See Photos. Starts up but does not keep proper time over an extended period of time.

Auguste Moreau, France (1834-1917). Louis XVI style dore bronze and alabaster pedestal clock surmounted with dore bronze sculpture of young child. Ormolu acanthus wreath and floral bunting accents. White clock face has arabic numerals and enamel floral designs. Winding key is enclosed in back. Comes with original gold tooled leather case. Clock measures 7.5"H x 3"W x 3"D. Case 9"H x 4"W x 4"D. Patinaed metal figure of Nebuleuse by August Moreau on a roux marble base supports the Torsion Pendulum. The rear view shows the suspension assembly which passes down through the tube.

French Figural Moreau Mantle Clock. 3 in. porcelain dial with black Arabic hour numbers and painted floral strands of garland inside, beveled door crystal with fancy bezel; typical round French brass spring driven movement has half hour strike on a bell. Standing white metal figure of a winged maiden wearing elegant garments blowing in the wind, signed Aug. Moreau, on a rouge marble base with cast metal feet. Repair to the face of the marble and chip to the tip of one wing. 32 in. high. Pr. candelabra urn shaped side pieces having 5 candle holders on scrolling arms and rouge marble bases. 33 in. high.
