DESCRIPTION: Cloisonne desk clock featuring a bronze frame decorated with variously colored, enamel dÃ©cor on its columns, feet, finials, and sides. Clock is battery powered and set into porcelain and is flanked on either side by a porcelain portrait. Marked on backside of base: "MADE IN THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA No. 12".

French gilt bronze and cloisonne clock garniture set in the Chinese taste, including Japy Freres clock flanked by a pair of covered urns. The cloisonne clock case decorated with scenes of birds on flowering branches, having a pagoda style top and gilt bronze fruit finial, gilt bronze columns with foliate finials flanking a gilt dial with black enameled Roman numerals, and a gilt bronze base supported on four toupie feet. Movement with Japy Freres 'Grande Medaille d'Honneur' stamp together with the numbers 6922 and 46. Garniture urns comprised of matching blue cloisonne bodies with bird and flowering branch decoration and dore bronze mounts including fruit finials, scrolling handles and squared bases inset with cloisonne vignettes and resting on bun feet. Clock measures: 14 3/4" H x 8 3/4" W x 5 1/2" D. Urns measure: 9 1/2" H x 5" W x 3 1/2" D. Mid to Late 19th century.

Fabulous French Slate & Cloisonné Mantel Clock: With a gong strike movement No. 3134. The blue cloisonné background has colorful birds – humming birds, nut hatch and blue jay like birds. There is a good mix of insects – honeybee and a variety of butterflies. There is also some delicate flowers on it. A panel in front of the urn top on the case has the same theme. The lid on the urn is removable. The black slate case has ormolu ornaments on the sides and the base.

The clock is running and striking at this time.

Cloisonne Hour Repeater Carriage Clock. 2.25 in. porcelain dial signed by the retailer “Harris & Shafer, Washington DC”, has pierced decorated hands and floral garland in the center; French brass 8 day spring driven movement has a platform lever escapement, half hour strike on a coiled gong with hour repeater button on top of the case. In a brass case with hinged handle on top, cloisonne enamel borders and beveled glass on the rear door, front, sides and top, exposing the escapement. In an original travel case with original key. Case is in good overall condition with no loss to the enamel, no damage to the glass or dial, strikes and repeats, not running; case has some wear to the leather covering and carrying strap is broken. 6.25 in. high x 3.75 in. wide x 3.25 in. deep. Weight: 5.25 lbs.
