German Hanns Geiel, Wien Serpentine Case Single Weight Vienna Regulator Timepiece, Circa 1865, 7″ enamel dial signed Hanns Geiel, Wien, 8-day, brass timepiece movement, lovely Vienna regulator in a serpentine case, movement is mounted with wood brackets, a well made early clock in a very desirable style case, movement in excellent condition, case with minor insect damage, a good finisher could easily make this clock more beautiful. Height 44″.

(No major faults discovered; The case has been well refinished/restored. One upper door ear reglued & lowest finial possibly replaced, also there are well done repairs to the crown; running at time of listing, but not guaranteed to continue)
We just contacted the owners of this clock in response to a strong question from the field as to whether this is an 8 day, or 30 day movement. They do not know. We do not know. Anyone who “knows” is welcome to provide an opinion.
