American. 1900s. Painted cast iron. Embossed, "NOT LEFT 5c CIGAR, G.W. VAN SLYKE & HORTON ALBANY N.Y.". Clock dial marked, "Manufactured by Waterbury Clock Co. USA". Face of cutter stamped, "Finger Rest Pat Appl'd For". Excellent. No cracks to cast. Heavy losses from the red background paint in the banner surrounding the clock. Clock is mechanically functioning. From the Graham J.F. Jones Collection. 13.5" x 7.5" x 7.5".

Counter Top Advertising Clock/Cigar Cutter: In an all metal case with a set key wind movement; a paper dial with 2nds bit, marked “Hale & Co. Jewelers”, and marked “885” on the clock frame. The cigar cutter top reads “Barnes, Smith & Co. Cigar Manufacturers, Binghampton, N.Y.”. The base has patent No. 567277 83 on it.
(The clock is not running at this time. The cigar cutter needs a Size 8 clock key to make it work. There is only a faint trace of color left on the letters of the cigar cutter.)

Brunhoff/Waterbury Cigar Cutter Clock: The clock was made by Waterbury for the Brunhoff Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio for use as their countertop cigar cutters. This one has an ad for CALSETTA under the glass surface. The clipper operates by turning a key on the back of the machine. There are match strikers on both sides. It is made of cast iron.
(The lower right front and side of the case are heavily pitted.)
