Signed Aaron Willard Jr. Lyre Banjo Clock. Original 7 in. painted iron dial signed “Aaron Willard Jr., Boston” and numbered “No. 648”, has black Roman hour numerals and good pierced hands; quality brass weight driven movement with half hour rack & snail strike on a bell at the top of the movement, has a long steel pendulum rod hanging from a t-bridge suspension with brass covered bob and 2 lead weights with brass pulleys. In a beautiful carved mahogany lyre shaped case with gilt turned wood finial, hinged brass door bezel, pierced filigree carved frame work in the throat with original reverse painted throat glass, lower door with mirrored tablet and fluted carved lower bracket with a teardrop acorn finial. Case has an enhanced original finish, some paint flaking and inpainting on the tablet, original mirror, some gold flaking to the finial, in beautiful condition. 40 in. high x 12 in. wide x 4 in. deep.
