Canadian. 1920s. Dark Oak. 8-day spring driven time only movement. E.N. Moyer was a Canadian school supplies and bookstore headquartered in Toronto, Ontario. Moyer originally supplied clocks and other furnishings to Canadian schools from the 1920s and later. Dial marked, "The Arthur Pequegnat Clock Co., Canada" lower edge. Stamped by merchant on the dial underneath XII and marked on the lower edge of the dial. Partial dial on reverse. Original finish. Split to backboard. Requires "Canadian Time" glass. This unusual later example features a less detailed case including a simple door frame and less elaborate cornice. Dial signed “The Arthur Pequegnat Clock Co., Canada” on lower edge. 6.5″ x 13.5″ x 36″. Maple case with a mahogany stain. The upper quarter sports detailed crown moulding. One-over-one glass door provides access to pendulum and dial. The painted metal dial exhibits active flaking. The brass pendulum exhibits oxidation. Mechanism complete with pendulum assembly and winding key. Corbel is missing from the lower right quarter of the case.
