L. Marti & Cie 1884 Slate Mantle Clock: 8 day time with gong strike and a 4 1/2″ porcelain dial with visible escapement. Slate case with green and black marble highlights.
(The case has edge chips on the base piece, below the dial. The no.1635 movement time spring winds okay, but the clock does not activate. The strike spring is wound tight.)

S. Marti French Slate Mantel Clock, T & S: Cobalt dial with raised gold Roman numerals; dial marked Richard & Cie; black slate case inset with red marble leaves and heart.; movement marked S. Marti, R & C Paris & London Best Warranted 202; has pendulum.

S. Marti & Cie Slate Mantle Clock: 8 day time with gong strike and a 4 1/2″ dial with visible escapement. The case engraved designs and a band of in relief classical scenes of women and cherubs.
(The clock runs and strikes, the strike sounds terrible and is very slow. The slate edges have a few scattered and not large chips, until you reach the back left side.)

L. Marti & Cie Slate & Marble Mantle Clock: 8 day time with bell striking movement no.2170. The 5 1/2″ porcelain dial has a visible escapement. The case has reddish brown marble highlights. The two tube pendulum is filled with live mercury. The case is generally in excellent condition.
(The dial has fractures. Both springs wind okay, but the clock will not run. Part of the escapement is missing.)

S. Marti French Slate & Marble Mantle Clock: 8 day time and bell strike; 4 3/4″ double sunk dial, marked “Palmer Bachelders & Co., Boston”; with visible escapement; beveled glass front and back; has pendulum; no key; black slate with brown marble insets; marked movement.
(Dial has a hairline after 3; small nicks and chips to case.)

A late 19th century French Slate mantle clock by L. Marti. 8 day spring driven time and strike movement with porcelain dial. Movement marked “L. Marti et Cie”. Classical style Slate case with carved Gilded design and inlaid Verde Marble detail. Some minor case damage. 12″ high.
