Hotchkiss & Benedict Half Column Shelf Clock: 8 day brass, weight driven movement with bell strike and a figural brass hand seconds indicator. There is a good interior label with original wallpaper lining. The 9 1/2″ wood dial is black and gold and has the makers name and “Warranted by A. Munger Patented”, Eight Day Brass Clocks, is also on the label. The movement has number 1425 stamped into it. There is an eagle pendulum with a bit of worn paint. The case is mahogany and veneer with half columns and upper door glass.
(The mirror looks like a replacement. The case exterior looks nice, but has a tiny veneer chip on the bottom door’s lower left corner. It runs, but the strike will not activate.)

Hotchkiss & Benedict 2 Door Shelf Clock: the black and gold dial is signed, there is also a legible interior label. “A. Munger Patented Eight Day Brass Clocks” is on the label’s top. Weight driven with bell strike and brass seconds indicator formed as a hand with pointed finger. The case is mahogany and veneer and has flat half columns and carved wood splat. The movement is numbered 2855. A key is with it.
(The mirror plate looks like a replacement. There is no wallpaper on the case’s interior. There are extra holes in the backboard and horizontal separations. The door knobs are not original. The case wood looks nice, but has a couple of small reglued veneer pieces.)

Mahogany case with carved crown above an upper door with clear glass and lower mirrored door, flanked by flat tapered columns with carved detail.
