George Jones NY Astronomical Wall Regulator. Walnut and burl veneer case with ladies head. One weight astronomical painted metal 16″ dial and 3 tube simulated mercury pendulum, signed in bright on the pendulum frame- George Jones & Co. at No.5 Courtland St. NY. Case is 90 1/2″long and 33 3/4″ wide. Made circa pre 1872. Case has an old refinish job, some veneer is bubbly and loose. The clock is running at this time.

George A. Jones Astronomical Regulator. Original 16 in. painted metal astronomical dial with outer dial having 5 minute numbers, sub seconds dial over a sub hour dial and good original hands; quality brass 8 day weight driven time only movement has pyramidal plates, deadbeat escapement, maintaining power, 2 quality brass pulleys with brass covered side weight, wonderful high quality pendulum with steel rod, bob has fancy silvered engraved framing with 3 mercurial brass jars with the larger center jar being silvered, signed “Geo. A. Jones & Co. at No. 5 Courtland St., NY”. Beautiful carved walnut case has a maidenÂs head on the crest, large burled panels and large turned teardrop finials. Measures 92 in. high x 34 in. wide x 11 in. deep.

George Jones No. 8 Astronomical Floor Regulator. Massive 17 in. silvered bronze astronomical dial with sweep minute hand having black incised 5 minute numbers, 5 in. sub seconds dial over 5 in. sub hour dial and good original blued hands; very high quality brass 8 day time only weight driven movement with fancy turned pillars, oversized blued screws, Graham deadbeat escapement with jeweled pallets, maintaining power, dust covers, spoked brass lower pulley with pierced “X” frame, spoked brass top pulley and quality brass covered side weight, has a top quality 3 glass jar mercurial pendulum with engraved steel rod and pendulum bob frame signed “Geo. A. Jones & Co. at No. 5 Courtland St., NY”. In a beautiful floor standing walnut case with overhanging top over fancy carved corbels along the sides; the base has fancy walnut burl with inset panels and figural carved lion’s head in the center. Nice condition, lacquered overcoat on an original alligatored finish, missing crest, repair to one upper front corbel. 97 in. high x 42 in. wide x 15.5 in. deep.
