second quarter 19th century, depicting the scene between Dorine and Tartuffe from the 1664 play by Moliere, with a book inscribed "Acte III Tartuf…" between the two figures, the cove-molded base resting on scrolled feet, with a central masque and a pierced skirt, the silk-string suspension movement signed by Japy Freres.

Three Piece French Gilt Bronze Figural Clock Set. High quality gilt bronze figural case with a semi nude woman feeding grapes to a goat beside her. The movement is running and striking, has a half hour strike on a bell, signed “Samuel Marti” on back; case and candelabra are in good overall condition with a natural crack in the marble where the clock case rests. Dimensions: Clock: 15 in. high x 12 in. wide x 5 in. deep. Candelabra: 12 1/2 in. high x 9 in. wide x 4 1/2 in. deep. Weight: 33.70 lbs.
