DESCRIPTION: A late 19th Cent. French Sevres porcelain and gilt bronze ornate mantle clock, decorated with cobalt-blue accents, painted floral and musical instruments motif. It is further embellished with a painted central scene with goddess Athena and putti cherubs; and a winged cherub finial motif. The ceramic dial has black roman numerals and gilt bronze hands. The movement is signed "AF".
CIRCA: Late 19th- Early 20th Century.
ORIGIN: France.

Gilt Bronze Mantle Clock w/ Porcelain Inserts. Beautiful 4 in. porcelain dial with black Roman hour numerals, flying birds, jeweled enamel highlights, gilt spade hands and gilt brass bezel; typical round brass 8 day spring driven movement with an half hour strike on a bell. In a beautiful gilt & dore bronze case with 2 handled urn finial having porcelain inserts with flying birds, pineapple finials, ribbon crest, fluted square corner columns, drapery sash under the dial and filigree borders along the base; has beautiful quality inset porcelain panels on the front and sides with garden scenes, a group of people gathers on a bench on the front scene. In excellent condition, no breaks, losses or damages and movement is running. 17.5 in. high x 9 in. wide x 6.5 in. deep.
