Federal mahogany and gilt banjo clock attributed to Aaron Willard, Boston, MA., with original reverse painted glass to throat and lower door. The white enameled dial marked "Woodbine" and the lower door decorated with a scene of the "Stonebridge Tavern". The back of the dial inscribed in pencil, "Gene Bagwell 11/12/72 Jackson, Mississippi". 29.5"H x 10"W x 4"D, Circa 1810-1820. This clock is illustrated in "The American Clock" by William H. Distin and Robert Bishop, illus. no. 516 on page. 222. The caption states that this clock was owned by Hart Woodcock who owned a farm named "Woodbine" near Belfast, Maine and was later in the collection of Gene L. Bagwell. Note – This clock is currently in working condition but no guarantees are made as to working condition.

with brass bezel and painted iron dial, original carved gilt eagle finial, eglomise tablets, the lower inscribed "S. Willard – Patent". 45" high, 10 1/2" wide, 4" deep. Expected age and use wear, gilt losses and repairs, tablets presumed replaced. Property of a Midwestern Collector.

made in North Attleboro, Massachusetts, with round painted iron dial, dial signed in script "Tift", with brass bezel above a tapered throat with original tablet and brass spandrels, rectangular weight box base, with replaced tablet "copy of original, Rene Sharples." 33" high, 11" wide. Horace Tift was born in Attleboro on December 18th, 1804. He lived 84 years and died in Providence, Rhode Island on March 11, 1886. He was trained as a machinist in Millbury, MA and was thought to been in the clock business until 1850 when he is last listed as a jewelry manufacturer. Expected age and use wear, old finish, some repairs, movement intact but not tested, key, weight, pendulum and bob present. Property of a Maine collector.
