This clock depicts Eros/Cupid stringing his bow. The clock movement was manufactured by Japy Freres Med' Honneur. The clock face is beautifully enameled and decorated with petite flowers and garland. It is surrounded by 2 cherubs and a ribbon. No chips. Measures 32 1/2"H. The base measures 9" square. The clock is not working. The clock has been repainted black. It was once gold. See Photos.

A turn of the century French three-piece clock set by Japy Freres. 8-day time and strike movement with a porcelain dial, Arabic numerals and painted floral detail. Red/Pink Marble case with cast mounts featuring a Spelter figure of a woman entitled "La Fourmi", above an elaborate cast foliate bezel, with cast Spelter garnitures on Marble bases with cast mounts. Some surface wear, running when cataloged. Clock is 21" high and the garnitures are 17" high. ESTIMATE $300-500

A late 19th century French figural mantel clock by Japy Freres. 8-day time and strike movement with a metal dial and applied Roman numerals on porcelain plaques. Cast Spelter case with figure of a woman holding a planet, possibly the Goddess of Astronomy Urania, over a scrolled base with foliate detail. Minor case wear, lacks pendulum, not running when cataloged. 14 3/4" high. ESTIMATE $200-300

French Japy Frères Painted Wood Mantel Clock: With a T&S movement signed “Japy Frères” and numbered 15858; an unmarked porcelain dial with hour and minute markers; and the pendulum. The case is painted with a courting scene and flowers and has a metal bird finial and metal trim and feet.
Not tested.
