heavy brass case with 6 1/2-inch "Special" silvered dial, brass 8-day lever escapement movement with ship's bell strike, signed on the dial and movement, serial number on the sound board "140323" and on the movement "187241"

Chelsea 8 Day Ships Bell Mantle Clock. Blued open moon hands, silvered 4 in. dial with incised Arabic numerals & minute markers, balance regulator, signed  Abercrombie & Fitch Co. New York – Chelsea, Ships Bell. Typical Ships Bell brass movement, signed and numbered 187453; strikes on a blued coiled gong. Cast bronze case with round tub and threaded bezel, signed and matching numbers on the back. In running condition, silvered dial is worn to the brass and has a worn bronze patina to the case. 5.5 in. dia. x 3.5 in. deep.

Chelsea Bronze Ships Bell Mantle Clock. 4 in. silvered metal dial with applied brass Arabic hour numerals and pierced hands, has bezel with door, missing glass; quality round Chelsea movement, has a lever escapement with good balance wheel in running condition, ships bell strike on a coiled gong. In an arched top mantle case on spherical feet, case has a medium dark brown patina which is worn. 10 in. high x 7 in. wide x 3.5 in. deep.
