BLACK AMERICANA CAST-IRON SAMBO BLINKING EYE / WINKER CLOCK, form of a banjo player, unmarked, probably Bradley & Hubbard, Meriden, CT. Retains original paint. Fourth quarter 19th century. 16″ HOA, 10″ WOA.
Blinking eyes and clock currently working. Scattered minor to moderate wear and discoloration to painted surface. Paper dial with damage and discoloration.
Provenance: Property from the private collection of Audrey “Dolly” and the late William “Billy” Journell, Leesburg, VA.
